Venue info
Slater Street is weekend party central for Liverpools drinking classes, with The Shipping Forecast set fair as an essential port of call on the thoroughfares bar-hopping trail. Exposed brickwork, freaky posters, metallic pillars and leather sofas provide the shabby-chic backdrop, with alcoves for laptop geeks or courting couples. Alcohol comes from British cask ales and world beers such as Blue Moon, plus a regulation list of wines and funky cocktails, while food (from Ruby Jeans Diner) brings boutique burgers, famous fried chicken, all-day breakfasts, salads and Sunday roasts. Following a refurb, the venue now has a snazzy new top deck with a fully stocked bar and a banquet-style table fashioned from cargo crates. Laser-sharp live music, DJs, comedy acts and cabaret are the crowd-pullers, although vintage markets and quizzes also attract an audience so its not all about Saturday night.
