Venue info
The Duke of Argyll is a large pub position on the corner of Brewer Street and Great Windmill Street. After being closed for most of 2017 the pub reopened in December, after a trademark Sam Smith's extensive refurb to return the pub to to that seen in its former Victorian glory days. Four "snugs" opening direct to the bar, have been re-installed in accordance with plans of 1886 (on display at the foot of the stairs). A first-floor lounge has also been inserted which will be largely food-led; and various staff bedrooms above.
No real ale available, but, Old Brewery Bitter and various other beers are available on keg.
Guests should note that there is a strict "no swearing" policy in all Samuel Smith's establishments. Also by decision of the brewery owner, customers may not use mobile phones, laptops or similar inside the pub; tablets and iPads are prohibited inside or outside. The brewery's policy is that its pubs are for social conversation person to person.
